As it turns out, I'm not depressed as much as anxious. I'm not busy at work these days. It can lead to anxiety. But then again, the economy has everyone sucking at the bottom.

By the way, have you heard that Michael Jackson died? Geebus. I'm done hearing about it.
So inside of a month, we've had: David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. Really?

*That's* insanity. I'm just fine, thank you.

Videodrone

My family and I have been playing Gauntlet on the Playstation all weekend. It's been fun, but makes me wonder - do video games stunt brain activity.

Um...

I was going to write a witty blog about this, but for some reason, my eyes are tearing up and all I can think of are Runestones.

More to come...

Everybody needs an excuse.

I always wondered what it would be like to be older than 20-something. I thought there would be some mystique or wisdom that would come with age that couldn't be explained in writing or in the movies.

I don't know about mystique or wisdom, but I certainly feel out of place these days. I'm too old to be "fashionably depressed" in an artistic sense... so I guess now I'm just (as my husband puts it), "chock full 'o nuts".

It's also time to start taking responsibility for myself fully. In the past, I was always a fan of, "it's getting bad.. someone should do something. I'll be sitting back here and I'll be fine at the end, just let me know how it turns out..." I'm also struggling currently with the need for pills to regulate my moods versus the "just grow the fuck up" camp. I have been diagnosed with both depression and even once with bipolar disorder. I know I'm not bipolar, because other doctors have confirmed that I am simply depressed... or are they ALL full of shit?

I am feeling a bit sucked into the abyss.

I had an episode of uncontrolled emotion the other night. It was unpleasant. I bought the book "Prozac Nation". Maybe I'll find inspiration (or at least commiseration) with someone else in my shoes.

Remember, kids... it's down the road, not across the street.

It's getting hot in herr.

Now that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize, I'm wondering who else may be considered? Perhaps Elmo from Sesame Street? He brings peace to millions by teaching kids the difference between right and left, up and down. Or maybe his pioneering grandfather, Grover, who taught my generation the same?

I'm in the camp that we as a human race are certainly quite pompous to think that WE caused global warming. Could we treat out planet better? Sure! Don't throw your shit on the ground. Are we the reason it's half a degree warmer this winter than last year? No.

I'm not purporting to KNOW the answers to life's most perplexing questions, but I'm sure not going to waste a million dollars making a crappy film about one of the most ludicrous possibilities.

Random Intros....

Holy crap... another blog.

Okay, I can do this. I am a superstar. I'm a hero. (Sings that 80's song featured in Boogie Nights...)

Have you ever had a hangnail so bad that you just bit it off? But then it bleeds incessantly? It didn't even seem quite worth all that effort to bite it off in the end, because it's ugly and annoying now.

That's sort of the way I think of life.
Sarah Silverman is super funny.
I like Sirius radio.
I hate trying to make sense of my self-pitying thoughts.
I like my family.
I hate being in pain.

And I prefer cucumbers to pickles.

I promise to think of something better soon to put here.
